  • Live Video Control Room Director (4-Month Intensive Residency)

  • Spent four months working and training as a live control room director overseeing three weekly services and regular rehearsals. Operating within a comprehensive Blackmagic ecosystem utilizing the ATEM 2 M/E Advanced Panel, I directed a complex 6-camera setup comprising 4 x Blackmagic PTZ cameras (managed via 2 x telemetric controllers) and 2 x URSA Broadcast G2 cameras.

  • My responsibilities spanned directing live speakers, stage musicians, and vocalists, performing live camera operations, managing ProPresenter playlists and stage looks, executing lower-third and side-third graphic edits, and handling media formatting and encoding.

12 of us made it through out of 5000 applicants and I remember turning up for training, feeling like the luckiest person alive. It was back in the day of bowler hats and sophisticated suit jackets.  Our trainers told us under no circumstances were we to break the uniform code and I was good with that, so proud in fact, I made sure I wore that bowler hat everywhere. Petrol stations, the local dairy, supermarket, you name it. I was a flight attendant and everyone was going to know it!
